Katie joined Pelican in 2024 and is the first face you’ll see when you visit our office. She is responsible for maintaining office administrative functions and supporting the team as needed.
Prior to joining Pelican, Katie was the Director of Marketing & Communications for an area religious organization. She also served as a Marketing Manager for a publicly traded consumer packaged goods corporation, where she directed national campaigns resulting in 100% of units sold for key new products, managed tradeshows, oversaw all point of purchase materials and in-store merchandising, placed strategic product on the cover of well-known consumer magazines, and was frequently asked to speak as an emerging trends expert at the Walmart Supplier Summit for her category. Her early career includes a background in corporate communications and public relations, where she managed accounts in automotive, emerging biotechnologies, nonprofit, and food & beverage industries.
She also took some time off from her career to care for family members with critical illnesses, and it is because of this experience that she is deeply passionate about serving children with terminal illnesses and adults with disabilities, both through her involvement as a Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and her local church.
Katie graduated from Loyola University with a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, and also runs a seasonal business designing and installing high-end holiday decorations in residential and commercial spaces. She loves live music, snuggling on the couch with her family, and laughing over a good meal with friends.
